User Login vs. SpurrOpen Account

Modified on Mon, 26 Jan at 11:28 PM

Although they are closely related, a user login and a SpurrOpen account serve different purposes within the SpurrOpen platform.

SpurrOpen Account

A SpurrOpen account represents the business, organization or individual using the platform services. It is the primary container for everything related to your operation on SpurrOpen, including:

  • Events and ticketing
  • Donations and marchandising
  • Payments, settlements, and financial details
  • Integrations, settings, and account-level configuration

Typically, a SpurrOpen Account will have multiple people managing it. Each person is identified by their User Login credentials.

User Login

A user login represents an single person who can access a SpurrOpen Account. Each user login has its own credentials (email and password) and permissions. The login credentials should not be a shared by multiple persons in an organization.

User logins allow SpurrOpen to:

  • Control who can access the account
  • Assign roles and permissions (e.g., admin, finance, box office staff)
  • Track activity and changes by individual users

Multiple user logins can be linked to the same SpurrOpen account, enabling teams of people to collaborate securely.

In Simple Terms

  • SpurrOpen Account = the business, organization or individual operating an enterprise.
  • User Login = the person accessing and managing that account

This separation ensures better security, accountability, and flexibility as your organization grows.
